#01 – “Knowing how to portray the atmosphere and character of places”

“Knowing how to portray the atmosphere and character of places”. I wanted to subvert the common imagery that sees Hong Kong only as consisting of the unmistakable urban backdrop that extends over the two kilometers of its bay. I chose not to photograph the city from its centre, nor from the top of its skyscrapers, but from the surrounding forests. I used the mountains peaks, the panoramic balconies, and the glimpses of the forests as observation points over an area that defies all preconceptions about the relationship between natural and artificial enviroments. #02 – Guangzhou East Railway Station

To bring out the curved and welcoming shape of the canopy that greets passengers at Guangzhou East Railway Station, I chose to contrast its waved shape with the squared buildings in the background. In addition, I merged various shots together in order to obtain an image without people, so that architecture was the only subject.

#03 – Private villa in Porto Cervo

A private villa that surrounds and protects its garden and swimming pool, and at the same time allows its guests to observe the surrounding coast of Porto Cervo. A parallelism between the intimate space of the private pool in the foreground, and the sea surrounded by rocky peaks in the background. CLICK HERE To see more Contemporary Interiors CLICK HERE

#04 – TENDER RAIN

I took advantage of the contrast between natural and artificial elements, to make the shower head stand out the best. The green ivy contrasts with the chrome of the photographed object, the hands have a cup shape that welcomes the water. A ray of sunlight emphasizes the photographed object even more. CLICK HERE To see more pictures of showers I shot for Tender Rain CLICK HERE CLICK HERE To discover Tender Rain – catalogue CLICK HERE

#05 – “Amico” portable audio system

“Amico” portable audio system – by Como Audio – is clearly visible in the foreground, its presence is emphasized also by a direct lighting; various elements that are less illuminated or blurred in the background help to show the system’s portability and create a summer setting.

#06 – CityLife complex

#06 This top view of the CityLife complex – taken on behalf of Rizzani De Eccher – is characterized both by the presence of the buildings designed by Zaha Hadid and by a strong visual diagonal that seems to divide the area into two: 20th century Milan versus contemporary Milan (with Zaha Hadid’s and Daniel Libeskind’s buildings). #07 – Zaha Hadid’s Interior

I created a clean and rigorous image to show the fluid interiors designed by Zaha Hadid in the CityLife complex. The chosen point of view emphasizes the vanishing point, while the shape and position of the objects seem almost to deny it. #08 – Rubelli Casa’s catalogues

In 2015 and 2016 I shot the images for the Rubelli Casa’s catalogues, for which Luca Scacchetti designed a deeply Italian collection, inspired by 20th century masters, which is eccentric and rigorous at the same time with great attention to details. This image brings together some collection pieces to recreate a sophisticated and rigorous living room environment. I took a frontal view of the room, after positioning the furniture according to a substantially central symmetry. Small variations in objects position help to break the symmetry and create a dynamic balance of the composition. All the objects, especially the chairs, are positioned to show all their details and to guide the eye of the observer.

#09 – Salvatore Massone, architect

To portray the architect Salvatore Massone I chose direct sunlight from a window, creating an image in which there is a dialogue between elements in light and shadows.

#10 – An apparently casual and non-stereotypical pose of the hands

Dark clothing and a black background allowed me to emphasize the face and hands of the subject in this portrait. An apparently casual and non-stereotypical pose of the hands gives tension and dynamism to the image. Daniele Tarenzi is a communication – social media manager at Federchimica. Daniele Tarenzi è communication – social media manager presso Federchimica.
